What do you think about fake meats and fake cheeses?

Does the fact that they're highly processed put you off?

I used to eat loads of stuff like vegemince, cheatin' meat, etc. when I first gave up eating animal products, but they used to make me feel sicker than I would feel if I ate a chicken while it was still alive.

They're obviously there for convenience, and to make it easier to give up animal products. But, if you knew enough recipes that you could eat natural food every day, would you give up things like fake bacon and fake sausages?

I gave up fake stuff quite a while ago. I used to have scheese cos I really missed the taste of cheese but as it tasted nothing like the genuine stuff I soon gave it up. Every now and again I might be the cream cheese (tofutti?) and margoram sausages but generally I know enough recipes not to and have two vegan recipe books for when I run out of ideas. I don't really like the fact its all so processed.

However on the rare occasions someone else cooks for me they always tend to go for burgers or quorn (no matter how may times I explain) becuase I guess that fits in with the 'meat and two veg' way of eating.

I love Cheezly as for fake meats no not a massive fan but the nice ones that exist (Tofu Based) I tend to use to make Vegan (not Toad) in the hole etc
