this is a recipe my mum has in an international cookbook lurking in her kitchen..it's fab. Can be used as a base for curries, in soups, pop a bit into anything to spice it up a bit..I'd say about a teaspoon or so per whatever you fancy putting it into..plus it just smells divine

makes about 2 cups

1/2 cup black peppercorns
1/4 cup coriander seeds
1/4 cup cinammon stick
1/4 cloves
1/3 cumin seeds
2 teaspoons cardamom seeds
4 whole nutmegs
1//2 ground paprika


1) pop the peppercorns,coriander seeds, cinammon,cloves, cumin seeds and cardamom seeds into a blender and grind up to a powder

it makes loads so you might have to do it in batches

2) grate the nutmeg and blend it into the spices, stir in the paprika and pop it all into an airtight container..lasts for ages but probably wont cos it'll end up in all your cooking :p
