Anyone seen this? They had a man on who drank loads of milk and Gillian told him that if he continues it'll lead to brittle bones and suggested that rice milk is one of the healthiest options. Strangely no mention of soya milk though.

Also on the news today they were talking about some study that says drinking tea without milk will help prevent heart disease and they asked some people if they'd change their habits, to which one woman said something along the lines of "people have had milk in tea for hundreds of years" and wouldn't change her habit.

The milk in tea study was based on 16 people - hardly conclusive proof I'd say.

Saw it, it made me want another smoothie... damnit.

16? Is that it? -Laughs- Maybe a tiny little bit more research needs to be done :p

i just read an article about how new research shows that increasing calcium (either through dairy or supplements) actually contributes to osteoporosis instead of preventing it. something about too much calcium in the blood triggers the leaching of calcium from the bones. but they now know that bone loss and brittleness depends on the acidity of the blood, not the amount of calcium. i don't know if that's the point they were making with your guy or not, but i thought it was really interesting.
