i tried again and didn't burn the flour this time. i heated enough oil to just cover the bottom of the pan, then added the flour. that's a lot less oil than i used last time, and they didn't turn out too oily this time. once i'd done roasting the flour, i added a mix of melted brown sugar and water because i didn't have icing sugar. the mix was still kind of crumbly, so i added a little bit of water until it got the right consistency to make little balls. they were delicious!

yay :D these things have become a big hit with my flatmate and she gets me to make them all the time. to think i used to just use chana flour to make rice! what a waste :D

Yummy !!!!

You will not miss besan Laddu now.


500 gms Besan ( Chana/gram flour )
150 gms Normal Olive Oil ( do not take Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
300 gm Sugar Powder
Cardamom Powder
Chopped Almonds
Chopped Pista

Heat flour with oil till it turns golden.
When it turns golden, add sugar powder, and rest of others.

Mix Well, Make Laddu
