Over the past year i have got to know foods alot better, i am eating alot more nice things. However i have encountered a problem some things i eat alot are cous cous, ressotto's, lentils, chickpeas, currys and chilli's, my problem is many of these things are made with similar bases. Cous cous and resottos and such need flavouring, chilli's often have a tomato base as do alot of my curys and i am getting stuck in the habit of using the same sort of veg ineach. Now i know stuff like garlic and onion is a staple in most sauces/flavourings, however i am lookinf for alternatives to things such as tomato which is currently the main base i use in alot of foods. So anyway if you can understand what i am saying then hopefully you might have some good ideas for me as to varying the making of these foods.
