View Full Version : Lemon-Garlic Cauliflower-Broccoli Saute

I want to share this recipe I found on iVillage, because I've made it a couple times and it tastes really, really good! I never really got into eating cauliflower or broccoli before I started making this. Usually I vary the recipe a little though- adding extra lemon juice and some black pepper. Also, I tried coconut oil instead of canola and it was delicious. And I've used ginger powder and garlic powder instead of fresh; it worked fine.

Ok, here you go:

"Lemon-Garlic Cauliflower-Broccoli Sauté

This vegetable dish has a delicately balanced flavor. A word of caution, however: When an acid is used with a green vegetable, the vegetable will lose its appealing bright green color. To avoid this, you might add the lemon juice just before you serve the vegetables.

Looks tasty. Can we get canola oil in the UK? If not does anyone know what oil would be an acceptable substitute?

Interesting, I didn't know that.
Although "canola" sounds less violent.
