yum! did you use the black salt? I haven't been able to find it, but love the idea of adding the sulfur-like flavor to "egg" dishes. With the chickpea flour does it have more of a pancake texture?

I did! It smells really sulfur-y, but mellows out in the food. I couldn't find any easily (didn't look for any Indian groceries), so I ordered it online at saltworks.com.

Ruby's right, this kind of black salt is pink-ish. I saw plenty of other black salts in stores, but they weren't the right one. The indian black salt also goes by kala namak, that's the sure-fire way to get the right one.

cool - I thought it may be good in yorkshire puddings - I have the recipe right to make them rise and look good but the flavour is a bit bland.

What a lovely way to present your food Kitteh.:) I saw some trays and little dishes in a shop the other day. I might start doing that with my meals.

as I already wrote on your blog comments, how come I never realised all these awesome recipes in Vegan Planet? Will take my copy back with me next time I visit the family.

Today's perfect, simplistic breakfast, to get me into bento mood:
