With Atora (http://www.atora.co.uk/aboutus/index.htm) Light Vegetable Suet which I gather from another forum isn't known in the US. You mix self raising flour and the suet 2:1 by weight (my electronic scales weren't working so I just guessed) and add a bit of water to make a firm dough, split it into little balls and drop on top of the stew and leave to simmer for around 20 minutes. I normally add some salt, pepper, mustard powder, cayenne and herbs to the dry mix.
How you getting on with the bean naming BB/Helen? :)

Beanstew - I saw suet in the supermarket yest'day but the ingredients included animal fats. I'll ask some other Aussie vegans to see if they've found vegan suet.

lol yes, challenging all the rules of decent catering. I somehow ended up having loads of fine TVP, any suggestions apart from chilli?

Top lettuce, tomatoes, avocado with tvp "taco meat"*. Top with salsa and eat.
*add reconstituted tvp to sauteed garlic and onion. Add chili powder and cumin.

Cottage pie? Spaghetti bolognese? 'Meat'balls baked in tomato sauce? Pasties? Sausage rolls? Burgers? As a baked potato filling?
Or just do an internet search for mince / minced beef recipes and use the tvp instead.
