nothing much - just 1 1/2 cups wholewheat flour, 1/4 cup white fat (I used trex). bung it in a food processor til it's breadcrumbs. then add cold water whilst pulsing the processor until it binds into one big ball. then shove it in cling film or a bag, and chill it for a while.

then use.

oh and don't roll it out too thick.

oh and use flour on your hands, rolling pin and board. plenty of it.

cheers..sounds easy..i'll try that..my pastry tends to turn out crap, i don't make it enough to have perfected it

^ that's amusing cos i was scrutinising the post trying to work out which bit needed translating from over here to over there language!!?

hahaha sorry rubyduby. yeah "bung" is an awfully british word. sorry. Should have said place or something. white fat can be any solid refrigerated fat like trex, flora white, supermarket's own brand. I don't know what brands you get there, but yeah it's white...erm....fat.

ah but isn't 'twaz describing the whizzing of it rather than the placing of it?! Or do I need translations?

..bung, twaz, lob..(in) - it's all the same thing. ;)
twaz possibly implies a more careless action??

i'm northern and i've never heard twaz....but i'm from t'other side o' t'pennines.

i'd say bung or whack or stick or shove it in.

Happy Birthday Miss Tea! That cheesecake looks awesome! I hope it tasted as good as it looks :)
Thank you! Oh, it was wonderful! Lots of leftovers too, as we had all gone out for japanese and ate a ton of food there, so not many people were hungry for cake. I have 1/3 of it in my freezer for cravings, haha.
