for those who requested the pasta bake recipe from my recent pics; here is the link on vegweb;

italian veggie casserole

(recipe says rotini pasta but i didn't have any so used penne.

http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=11887.msg76255#msg76255

and the recipe for the pasta sauce on the spag;

from 'jamie at home' book

'quickest tomato sauce'
olive oil
2-4 cloves garlic
fresh basil
2 or 3 tins plum tomatoes
salt & pepper

pour in generous amount of oil and add the sliced garlic. gently fry till the garlic starts to colour then add the basil and toms. mash up the toms with a masher or fork.
season and let it simmer for up to 1/2hr.

the recipe suggest blending it but we like the bits of garlic in it.

....and it's done! easy peasy.

we went here (http://www.vinhloitofu.com/) today!

Anybody near LA should go here! The owner was there and he treated us like his guests. We walked in with to-go containers with us and he immediately smiled and called us on being vegan. He gave us 1/2 gallon of pandan soy milk for free with our meal, told us to come out to the tofu festival on Saturday (we both work :() and was just really happy to meet vegans (as we were him). I haven't ever had such a pleasant experience eating out!

I got the curry soup with veggie chicken sub.
the bf got the house soup with vege ham sub.

soup before adding fresh sprouts and noodles.

The guy makes his own tofu, soy milk and fake meats there so everything is cheaper than it would be elsewhere. (those giant subs are $4.50!)

Choccie tart recipe ...

Make a biccie base by adding crushed Digestives to melted margarine. Press into a loose bottom tin and bake for 10 mins at 180 degrees.

Meanwhile, put a cup of peanut butter in a bowl of hot water to warm ... (the peanut butter should remain in the cup so the water doesn't touch it! ... it's just to soften it).

Melt a 200g bar of chocolate and put in the blender with a carton of silken tofu, a teaspoon of vanilla essence and a glug of maple syrup. Blend until it weeps!

Smear the peanut butter over the cooled bisuit crumb base ... dollop the chocolate mousse over the top and chill.

Decorate with the sliced fruit of your liking. It's good with icecream or soya cream (or if you're a healthy nutter, on it's own)

If you don't mind my asking, what are Digestives?
I can't wait to make this!
