I'm often in South America, specifically Chile, to visit my family.

We've found several really good vegan friendly restaurants in Santiago, Chile, and even found a no-kill animal rescue center.

I'd love to hear from some of you of the places to eat that are vegan friendly. I'll post some from Chile as soon as I'm near my old datebook with the address and other info.

Um I can give a couple of suggestions for Ecuador..

Casa Hood in Banos had many vegetarian dishes, and knew what a vegan was, introducing specific vegan dishes for my last time there (surely couldn't just be a conincidence :p)
The Magic Bean in Quito did a yummy falafel sandwich and fruit smoothies.
It was fairly easy to get falafel or beans and rice most places, but these were the best places I visited.

I'd love to go back, and visit the surrounding countries too. People I met said very good things about Chile, and Argentina too, I seem to remember.
