I don't see a forum or thread for Vegan Jewish recipes, so I'm going to ask it here. I'm searching online for an easy vegan knish recipe and I can't even find knishes, let alone easy. Can someone help me with this? I'd also like to find a good easy recipe for vegan matzo balls, matzo ball soup, Kreplach soup, and other delicious vegan Jewish recipes. My husband and I were raised Jewish, though we don't practice any more - we're Spiritual, not religious - :D and we miss all the delicious Jewish meals we ate when we were kids, but of course they were all gross and very unhealthy. I want to adapt and modify all those yummy delicious meals into organic healthy vegan meals. Can anyone here help me with this? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks and if there is a vegan Jewish forum on here, please tell me and I'll post this elsewhere or please feel free to do so yourself Mods, thanks. *hugs* :D

The cookbooks 'Vegan with a Vengeance' and 'Veganomicon', both by Isa Chandra Moscowitz and Terry Hope Romero, have recipes for Matzoh Ball Soup, Knishes etc in....not sure if they're online anywhere though - maybe have a scout around the forums at www.theppk.com :)

Hello - I expect someone knows, but while you're waiting there are some links to recipes here. Can't vouch for them and some may be lacto-vegetarian, though the couple I looked at were vegan.

Harpy,
Thanks for posting this. I have been looking for a bagel recipe for ages and will definitely try one of these. This weekend I borrowed a library book on Jewish cooking which is really interesting. There is an enormous picture of a bagel in there but no recipe at all! I'll let you know how these turn out.
