According to this (http://members.westnet.com.au/herbmed/Database/Botanicals%5CPfaffia%5Cpaniculata%5CSuma_webMG.htm ) link, the Brazilian herb Pfaffia paniculata contains both B12 and Taurine. I'm always extra skeptical when the actual found levels aren't stated, and it doesn't help much when the text is printed in yellow on white background. :) Anyway, here's the text, and as always - corrections and other reports are welcome....

SUMA
How is it that such a fabulous herb as Suma remains so unprescribed and so ignored, after all the promising anti-tumour activity that this rainforest carrot demonstrated in the laboratories of Brazilian and Japanese universities during the 80's? This research contributed much towards varifying the traditional use of Brazilian ginseng among the Xingu Indians for successfully treating and preventing tumour growth.

Today Suma is principally used to combat physical and mental stress, a few grams a day is recommended as a sexual tonic. The therapeutic value of Pfaffia root seems endless as it is used in Brazil to aid the treatment of circulatory irregularities, anemia, diabetes, rheumatism, sleeping disturbance, memory loss, ulcers, arthritis and arthrosis. 15 grams a day is recommended as a powerful tool in the fight against metabolic disease. Suma is tonic for the general organism, immunostimulant, cicatrizant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-rheumatic and acts as a cellular regenerator. The pharmacognostic study of Pfaffia paniculata shows the following components: Glycine, asparic acid, serine, lysin, taurine, histidine arginin, asparagine, glutamic acid, treonin, asparagine, glutamic acid, treonin, alanine, proline, leucine, isoleucine, phenylalaline, methionine, valine, tyrosine, trypophan, cystine:

-Gluconic acid, glycose, fructose, manitose, sucrose, maltose, rhamnose and arabinose:
-Vitamins A, B1, B2, B12 and C, D, E, F, folic acid, nocotinic acid starch, pantothenic acid:
-Systoestyrene, daucoestyrene, olic acids, palmytic acid, stearic acid:
-Iron, cobalt, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, germanium and stroncium:
-Amylase, phenosae and coline.
-Alantoin.

SUMA
THE HEALING GIFT OF THE SHAMAN
Studied extensively through the 80's. Proven to possess amazing properties, Suma contains a list of nutrients and pharmacological compounds that
reads like a complete complex for recovery from metabolic disease. This herb assists in the building of new cells that are strengthened with anti cancer compounds due likely to the plant containing many rare elements such as germanium, beta escydine, etc. The discovery of the medicinal benefits
of this plant should be celebrated by healers everywhere as proof of the healing power of the Amazon jungle.
Proven in laboratory tests to inhibit tumour growth and recognized for its cell building and tonic effect, Suma should have been made available to anybody needing a recovery program from serious illness. Yet this herb remains obscure, unheard of even among herbalists. (In Australia)
Suma is an easy product to include in ones diet as it suits adding to food. There are also many delicious recipes such as Coco Suma, or Guarana Suma or can be added to fruit juice. Suma, otherwise known as Brazilian Ginseng will enhance health and energy levels any day of your life.

This Shamans gift of the jungle is medicine for today's survivor. Help your self to natures medicine chest the power that gives life holds the power to heal. Many thousands of years of Indian research has revealed an extensive amount of medicinal plant knowledge. It is unfortunate that western man has not applied the Indian herbalism to help him cope and cure modern day diseases. But now with the laboratory studies and the availability of products one would be missing a great opportunity to experience one of the planets most powerful herbs.

Suma
(-Pfaffia paniculata-)Suma is a general tonic invigorator, immunostimulant, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic herb of the Amazon. It contains up to 11% of saponins. These are glycosydes and nortriterpenes derivatives that have been patented as antitumor compounds.
No matter what quantity is consumed Suma is non-toxic. Contains vitamins A, B1, B12, C, D, E, F and K, alantoin (a cell proliferant, stimulates cell growth), full spectrum of essential amino acids and also contains many valuable mineral salts, including germanium, magnesium, iron.
Try 1 level teaspoon of Suma in a fruit smoothie or as a tea, just add honey and hot water, try a squeeze of lemon juice in it, or try it with some cocoa. Also mixes well in a Hot Guarana drink.
The pharmacognostic study of Pfaffia paniculata shows the following components: Glycine, asparic acid, serine, lysin, taurine, histidine arginin, asparagine, glutamic acid, treonin, asparagine, glutamic acid, treonin, alanine, proline, leucine, isoleucine, phenylalaline, methionine, valine, tyrosine, trypophan, cystine:

SUMA. Pfaffia paniculata. CELLULAR REGENERATOR.
The Xingu's, rainforest Indians of the Matto Grasso region of Brazil used the root of this plant as a cure all. Studied and classified by the botanist, Kuntze in 1891 Suma seems to have disappeared from modern literature until 1975. Jair, a famous Brazilian herbalist was introduced to a Xingu Shaman or Medicine Man who described its use as an aphrodisiac, for use in the healing of wounds. Modern research shows that Suma, also known as 'Brazilian Ginseng' would be useful in assisting the treatment of diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, cholesterol reduction, and for the control of uric acid in relation to gout and arthritis.
Much time has been spent on laboratory tests testing Suma for use in the treatment of cancers and tumors.
High in vitamins (this probably accounts for the tonic and stimulant effect as it is involved in the mechanism which delivers oxygen to the blood cells), contains the full spectrum of amino acids, including arginine, minerals-including significant amounts of Germanium, beta carotene, vegetable hormones [beta-ecdysone, a stimulant to cell growth triggering the development of new and vigorous cells, sitosterol and stigmasterol], and saponins. Suma has been tested in trials as a natural treatment to reverse arterial damage in arteriosclerosis, in the treatment of menopausal symptoms, as an aid in reducing mood swings, hot flushes and possibly reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Hmm how is there taurine in a plant? Vets are always saying that taurine is only from animals hence why cats will go blind if they do not eat meat. This is an interesting article.

You can get synthetic taurine. It's in vegetarian (and other) catfood.

There actually was taurine found in a plant, I forgot which one it was though. There are always new discoveries, so it helps to keep one's mind open and to do your own research as well.
