For any one looking for a cheaper alternative to the cool bento boxes in the pictures Sainsburys is selling a 'lunch cube' which is quite cool - has 3 compartments and folds in half into a cube for £3.49.

Ooooh thanks for that, I'll have to check that out.

Yes, I want one too. I wanted to get one of the 2-tiered ones, but am afraid they'd be too small, or too much to clean for me to keep up. You guys really seem to be doing well with the laptop style I think maybe I should just stick with the tried and true instead of trying to be different.

Yeah, I just got a 2-tiered one and it is a little small. I tend not to eat a whole lot for lunch anyway, so it's ok, and I find it's fine as long as I have an apple on the side, but a laptop style one would probably hold a lot more food.

I might be getting a job that NOT in a grocery store, so I'll need to definitely pack a lunch and not rely on buying snacks. I'm excited! I am gonna make vegan bentos that are so cute, they'll blow your socks off.

today, almost identical to yesterday: wheat orzo w/ red bell pepper, chard, lemon butter sauce, pine nuts and almond parmesan, grilled patty pan squash, carrots, cucumber, fig bar, blueberries. the orzo has turned pink from the peppers and chard while waiting to be eaten.

I have a cool laptop lunch thing but have yet to get really into it, as I just started eating cooked foods again [meaning now for lunch i'm not just eating a garbage truck load of salad.. heh] but I wanted to say that this very well may be the COOLEST thread on the veganforum! Hah! that shows how much of a life I have. :D

And here it is, my very first Laptop Lunch! (well, it's Jo's dinner, but I made it!)

Clockwise, starting at top left:
mixed salad containing carrot strips, cucumber, spring onion, tomato and mung bean sprouts;
Chocolate peanut butter silk pie, with a chocolate sesame snap and banana chips;
dressing for the salad in the lidded pot, 2 squares of choccy in the foil, 'nomicon broccoli polenta;
Redwoods chicken slices and cucumber sandwich, extra cucumber slices.

Oh, and not to forget almonds and apricots in with the fork.

I still can't believe people can actually finish those. I use mine only for picnics with others. And I'm by no means a girl that eats little.

Nice first one, Bryan :) !
