roxy, penne+peanut+tempeh sounds like a great idea, did you make it yourself?

Yes I did. I posted the recipe in the recipe section. It's my own recipe, I made it up :D

Puppy, those lunches look great!!

Here's my bento for tomorrow:

Hobo Casserole with cornbread topping.

Salad - romaine lettuce, cucumber, orange pepper, raddish, avocado, mango, cashews, raspberry & toasted pecan dressing.

Spicy potato chips.

Piece of home-made lemon cake (cut to fit lol)

I'm not sure these count as bento, cause I don't have a fancy box, but here are some of the creations I've taken to work over the last month, usually when I know its gonna be a long day in the office.

いただきます!

That does look very delicious, what exactly is in it?:)

(I was going to buy a bento box whilst I was in Central London with VF people but I didn't as I was shocked by how small the boxes were.:o)

thx :) I think it was just random stirfried veggies mixed into some cooked quinoa. The giant green olives were the best bit though - love those things - very happy now our tesco metro stocks the gaia (http://www.tesco.com/superstore/xpi/4/xpi61116894.htm) ones!

Definitely will need to check out the japan centre next time i'm in london - i'm sure they should have giant boxes like the one tsukushi had in hana yori dango :D:D (http://www.jdorama.com/drama.956.htm)

yum yum Roxy. did you reheat the shepherd's pie or did you eat it cold?

I reheated it. The deli at work have a little microwave that we're allowed to use to reheat our lunches. Unlike the microwave at my old place, this one has to conform to health and safety standards, so it's ALWAYS nice and clean! :D

I packed my first ever bento lunch today. I made it for my husband as he had to go back to school a day before me. Tomorrow we will both have bentos. It was so much FUN!

:( I have a job but no house, so all my stuff is still packed away. I'm pretty sure I'll start up again when I can.

Now that I work pretty much from home, I don't tend to make these any more. I miss them actually! :o

Next time I'm out doing training I'll pack a box and take a photo.

I think the udon noodles and peanut sauce from VWAV might go well in a bento box... *starts planning* :D

I blog the kids' (and sometimes my husband's) bento lunches: http://disposableaardvarksinc.blogspot.com/ I love the portion control of a traditional bento, and I try to use the japanese 4-3-2-1 rule to keep it nutritionally balanced.

whats the 4321 rule?? I'm intrigued!

4 parts grain (usually rice in Japan), 3 parts veggie, 2 parts protein, 1 part fruit/treat.
