jamboxrock, your lunches look amazing! Could be because it's nearing the end of the work day, ready to go home and have some dinner... but my mouth is watering. You should come and pack me some lunches :D

I  Ichibankan, can't wait to go back there next year.

Note to self: Look here more often for inspiration and dig out your poor neglected bento box.

I have been inspired by the pretty pictures (and also have a bit of a Tupperware-type box fetish) so have ordered myself a laptop lunch box. Now I just have to decide what to put in it!!

It's arrived!! I got very excited when the postman knocked on the door this lunchtime.
But now I only have two days to decide what to put in it on Monday!!!

how about leftovers from this weekend? leftovers seem to be a popular choice for bento fillers?

OK, it's taken me a while cos it's been a very busy week, and it isn't as exciting as some of the others, but I have finally uploaded the photo of my first bento box:
cashew/pineapple/quinoa stirfry (from VCON), homemade hummus, carrot sticks and grapes.
http://www.veganforum.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=45&pictureid=303

Had basically the same box for three days, so only one photo I'm afraid.
Next week it will hopefully be better, but I am only a newbie to the bento thing! ;)

Those look good Helen and JBR! Now I work from home I never do bento :( If we ever get a work office I'll be pinching some of these ideas!

I know it's been a while - we had half term holiday (no school so no need for bento), and last week's lunches were very boring - but here is this week's box:
Tamarind Lentils (from VCON), mini breadsticks (from Sainsbury's), carrots, lettuce and blueberries.
Kept me going all afternoon!!

Hang on. A bit of reading lead me to here:

i've just ordered myself a bento box off amazon but one thing i'm wondering.... aren't you all starving.... doesn't look like much food to last a whole day in work (which is what i'm buying it for), i'm hoping to lose weight but afraid i'll be running off down the chippy by 4pm coz i'm hungry lol. any tips?

do you have one dish every 2 hours or something like that? or just eat the whole lot like half way thru the day?

excuse me if i'm being dull...it's a new concept to me.

Daffodil: lol you are so excited! I work from home now so don't do bento very much, but when I did, I ate the whole lot at lunchtime. I've got the same one as jambox, and it holds a surprising amount of food. I can quite happily snack throughout the day but was always full after my bento :)

Goddess dressing here, though jambox might have a different version: http://www.theveggietable.com/recipes/greengoddessdressing.html
