So says Nigel Slater in today's "Observer" before giving some
not-too-challenging sounding vegan recipes

http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/food/recipe/0,,2266571,00.html

The article in question is in a special eco edition of their colour
magazine. It's good they're associating veganism with minimising
environmental impact, but a shame that they can't do it without suggesting
that it's all a bit abnormal :D

Good article. The apple, rosewater & pistachio recipe sounds nice :)

Yes, the chickpea one too I thought, although I would probably have to use some kind of squash instead of the pumpkin.

The starter sounds a bit fiddly for moi though!

lol ! like mentioning you're vegan is just a way of torturing the cook. the recipes look nice.

Yes, and it's nice that he calls it "a diet that does not exploit or harm any other living thing".

He didn't suggest fruit for dessert *faints dead away*!

I love Nigel Slater's recipes - his jeruselum artichoke and mushroom "pie" is one of my all time favourites. Actually like lots of other food writers now a lot of his stuff is vegan or at least easily made vegan even though it is not usually labelled as such

My fiance's cousin is making my wedding cake. She keeps mentioning that it would be easier if she could use animal products. I'm like "It's EFFFING CAKE!"
