So ... have any of you been able to try Saf London yet? I might have a chance to be bought dinner there at the end of April!

I'd love to but Shoreditch is a bit out of my way usually.

I haven't, but I live very close to Shoreditch, so I haven't really got an excuse have I?

I have an excuse: there's no menu on the site, and thus I don't know how much everything costs...

Yeah, the web site is a bit crappy isn't it? Maybe it's still being developed.

Just to let you know that the website (http://www.safrestaurant.co.uk/) has now been updated and includes a menu.

No mention of prices though unfortunately.

There was a review in the Evening Standard that makes it sound rather expensive.

Am not put off by the rather snotty review but am a bit put off by the thought of spending 85 quid. However perhaps they drank a lot.

Yeah it does look expensive, but I'd still like to go there. I think that the reviewer had made his mind up before even going there, and tried to cover his tracks with a falsely diplomatic-sounding review. The whole "soooo vegan diet" thing makes his attitude pretty clear.

I like the fact that it's more-or-less raw as well. Raw, organic, vegan... How can it be bad!?

If you click the book a table link on the Saf website it says 'Price: £26 to £40'

Yup, does look expensive - even just judging by the website. But could be worth it!

Sounds like you're willing to be test-suject?

Fo sho, mo fo.

I initially assumed that 'Saf' was meant as in 'Sahf' as in 'South.'

But it isn't.

Is 222 not a "gourmet vegan restaurant" then?

I have not been but I always thought it was.

Michael.

Nah it's middle-range really. £10 for a main in London isn't exasctly gourmet.
