Whether you agree or not with the rights or choices involved surrounding the whole abortion issue, may not be the question here...what I want to discuss is whether or not these awards should be handed out to individuals who are surrouned by such controversy.

I'd say that if a person isn't generating at least a little controversy, they're not worthy of any awards.

Yes in fact several receipients have returned their award, not wanting to be associated with him/or the controversy surrounding this individual.

Good for him. People who make changes are always controversial (or what would they be changing/improving??)!
