Lemongrass

Has anybody in mid-Europe tried growing lemongrass? (somewhere with similar-ish conditions to France)

I've managed to get a shop-bought piece of lemongrass to grow (yay!) ... but what shall I do with it? Am I best having it in a large pot (potting on as it grows) .. or shall I plant it in the soil ... if so, in the polytunnel or outdoors?

At the moment there are three or four blades of about 20cm. It has really good roots on it but I'm not sure what to do next for the best.

I love lemongrass so it would be great to be able to grow it :D

As the amount of replies from people in mid-Europe seems a little underwhelming I'll add one from north a bit.

I got a lemongrass growing kit a couple of years ago. It didn't, grow that is. Long after the time it was meant to have sprouted there was still nothing but soil. Bastards
