They're not very exciting. Most useful thing they sell is loads of sorts of turkish delight (all labelled vegan). Other than that it's nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and herbs.

Not a burger or sausage in sight.

yes i found them quite disappointing. they sell quite a lot of sweets but they're all 'normal' with gelatine and stuff. no veg*n specialities.

And those pink wafer biscuit things, that used to be available from veganstore, that I can't for the life of me remember what they are called.

Yeah, I thought those shops are quite crap. I saw a Julian Graves in London and though "ooh" and then walked in, walked around the shop and walked straight out again.

(Those pink wafer biscuits sound nice though!)

i must've missed them then because all the sweets i saw in there had gelatine in them.

I buy a lot of dried fruit and nuts from JG, but I think all the sweets I looked at had gelatine in. Even the licorice wasn't vegan, I think it had beeswax or something, I'll check next time I'm in there.
As far as I can remember, the only sweet type thing I buy there is sesame snaps.

flying saucers (http://www.juliangraves.com/?PageID=550&StockCode=FLYINGSAUCER50G)

fruit jellies (http://www.juliangraves.com/?PageID=550&StockCode=FRUITJELLY250G)

cinder toffee (http://www.juliangraves.com/?PageID=550&StockCode=CINDERTOFFEE)

pontefract cakes (http://www.juliangraves.com/?PageID=550&StockCode=PONTEFRACTCAKE)

there are others, but i can't be arsked to look through the website to find them!

they also stock some of the 'normal' vegan chocolates, plus cheap but very tasty turkish delight which was vegan last time I checked.

Mmmm, fruit jellies.
I thought lactic acid was from milk. I must have looked at them and put them back for that reason. Now I know better I can see fruit jellies becoming a major part of my diet. :)
I've tried the coconut ice, but it tastes a bit funny to me. I prefer the Oskri coconut bars from H&B.

I love the coconut ice - tastes like the cheap and cheerful stuff i used to get fed as a kid at the seaside!!

that's going to be a bit odd in Lewes the two are right next to each other :)

Hmm, I kind of hope they leave JG stores as they are. This is purely out of concern for my local health food shop at home that would get f***ed over if there was a H&B on our high street.

Vegan flying saucers...cute.
I only remember my mum bringing home big bags of dried apricots and nuts from there (they used to always taste a bit stale)
