I don't time myself but I esitmated

Walked to the supermarket ~15 mins
Danced in the afternoon ~1 hour (listening to fast music--got sweaty enough that I needed a shower)
Danced in the evening ~ 1 hour at a slow pace (was listening to slower music, so just walked around my room mostly, not really dancing)

:) :) I feel really happy today.

tigerlily i LOVE dancing around my room!! i havnt done it in forever though - so much fun!

today: 100 mins. on the elliptical (9.5ish miles maybe) then 3 min cool down (the gym closed) followed by a 15 min. walk around campus -- my old roomie was there (the only reason why im not rooming w. her is bc i left and technically wasnt a student again till this semester so too late for roommates) and she lives on the otherside of campus so i walked her back then walked back to my dorm. then up 3 flight of stairs of course.

i know it was 20 mins. less elliptical than yesterday but it was faster paced and it really felt great! makes me happy - but maybe thats just the endorphins talking :D

another great 120 minute elliptical workout! 3 min. cool down (gym closed again) and then 10 minutes of stretching out on the track.

the bad thing about doing it at night is that i wont be able to sleep for a while and i have to get up around 5ish to go out on the water for crew tomorrow buuut oh well!

off to be productive.. hopefully

I want to do some toning but I don't know if I'm doing them right. I found some little clips online but they don't help much. I have bad posture and I'm really lazy and I know I don't do the poses right. LOL.

Do you guys think an exercise class like yoga or pilates will be worth the money if it meant getting toned properly?

I think so! usually w. a gym membership - at least in the states - there are loads of classes you can take and usually yoga and pilates are included. i really enjoy yoga and pilates and they tone in a lean way too. i definately recommend it. im not good really w. tapes etc. bc it doesn't motivate you in the same way that a class does

sounds good let me know what you find!

oh my. so this hit the bricks thing i forgot - you run laps w. backbacks w. THREE TEXTBOOKS in them - well you dont have to but they count as 2 laps instead of one. and that seriously wrecks your back raw. AND i forgot to scan my baton so my laps dont even count AWESOME. thats okay it goes on till 7 so im gonna run some errands and come back.

seriously though. i can run 120 mins. no problem but w. a backback w. textbooks on bricks and laps greater than 1/4 of a mile its tough man.

ahhh frustrated!

today only did 60 mins. - pretty hard though especially the last 15 mins. when i decided only to do 60 mins.

my legs just would not carry me through!! at the point where if you stop focusings on some random thing and actually think they would have given out. it happens sometimes but usually at the end of the second 60 mins. not halfway through the first. not sure whats up today... but im not really a fan. ::Sigh:: oh well.

i dont know i was in a really good mood when i was thinking about getting to workout for a couple hours today but then i came back to my room and i have to do a lot of revision on my statement of interest bc its too long and think in a different type of way and i dont know it just brought my mood down. i guess i didnt really have the time though bc i went to lunch, had a sorority recruitment workshop for 2 hours, ran errand w. a friend, and now in an hour and a half i have to meet for sushi w. my lineage and have a micro study group tonight and revise this essay now. sooo i guess it worked out.

1 hour 10 mins. elliptical - was feeling a bit weird so switched over and did
20 mins. power walking on the TM at a 12% incline
2 hours elliptical
5 min. cool down
stretching

walking back to my dorm and up 3 flights of stairs was interesting.. haha

i realize this seems excessive - and it is. im just going through a rough patch - but im seeing a therapist down here and if things are going the way they seem to be going the rest of the semester we are going to focus on living w. it and getting through the semester and then i have over a month break where i can go to a treatment center.

Today I didn't have work due to the holiday (Columbus Day here in the US, which I think is Thanksgiving in Canada maybe?)

Anyway, I did about 1 1/2 hours of yoga at home with a DVD a friend gave me last christmas that I hadn't tried out yet. there were some poses they called advanced which i was suprised I could do - yay me! so, I guess they weren't too advanced, but I was happy anyway since they were new to me. One was tree pose (which I had never done) and then tree pose but with your arms straight up in the air and then bending over to so your back was almost flat. :D I can't find a pic of anyone bending forward, but here is what I am talking about...

i have just shifted two tonnes of compost, just having a break for a brew:D now i have the potatoes to dig up, and then dig the compost into 8 beds.

that should be enough excercise for one day:D

Yesterday I walked up the bookstore and supermarket (not very far) and I also danced around my room a little bit.

I used to dance around my room every night when I was in high school. It was so fun, and I was on dance team too. I haven't dance in forever!! I feel like as a college student I'm not as light hearted anymore.

i just found this thread so i decided to use it! :D

i've just started back at the gym after a break of about 3 weeks
i had loads of 'issues' and was also poorly, but now i feel happy to be back there again. Yesterday was my first day back.

So today i did:
20 mins on the treadmill - i stuck at an average speed of around 4.5kph because i had a very crampy right leg
4 mins on the concept 2 rowing machine, thats 1 fish game, i got a low score on the game but rowed 765 metres fairly slowly
10 reps on the lat pull machine @ 25 kg
10 reps on the leg press @ 80kg
10 on the chest press @ 25 kg
then 10 mins of yoga and general stretching on the floor mat

i'm not going to go mad like i have before, i must work back slowly to what i was doing before building up to what i want to do. I feel LOADS better for getting back to the gym, i've learned my lesson now about what suits me and what doesn't :). I'm not a natural born yogi, the gym machines make me feel good and i come away with my stress gone. The loud music on the ipod does wonders, too . I'm using what i have learned about yoga for stretching before and after working out though, so it's all good.
