So, we went to the local Oriental store and came home with this Ginormous, beautiful Daikon. In the past we just sort of mixed it in with other things. It just occurred to me I should get on here and ask... What are you folks favorite uses/recipes for Daikon?

I'm not very familiar with daikons, but I bought one last week. Thought it was a parsnip. So I went ahead and roasted it with the other root vegetables as planned, and it was quite nice!

So, my uninformed opinion is: roast it.

Daikon is awesome in miso soup.

Steaming it gives it a sweeter taste, but it smells like farts.

Roasting would be good i'm sure, i'll probably have to try that soon.

I know some people here in Japan shred it in salads.
