It wouldn't surprise me if it as closed every time that I've been there it been empty and as one of the reviewers said it need a good stream clean although the food was usually very good.

I've just found a property website which as Black Bo's up for sale I don't expect it would reopen as a Veggie restaurant if and when someone takes over the lease.

Check the baked potato shop out on Cockburn street, immensely good vegan fillings, haggis samosas, all is veggie and most is vegan. Can you beat it? No it is amazing quality grub.

A few days were spent in Edinburgh recently and managed to have vegan haggis for breakfast, dinner, and tea!

The baked potato shop is still as great as ever, nice people, very filling, haggis samosas are not to be missed.

Russian Passion Cafe was closed the day we were free, but will try next time.

Hendersons bistro is good, and the restaurant too, but some staff not overly welcoming.

Ann Purna is still very good, again very nice folk too.

The Forest cafe was a let down, having missed it at the previous location. Peanut butter and jam toastie with salad was all that was on offer one morning. I'd love to support it by revisiting if in town not so sure.

The Auld House ( www.theauldhoose.co.uk ) do vegan food as well, but only had time for a drink when that way.

I also drank too much Irn Bru which reminded me of panda pop, and I wish the Greenhouse b and b was still open.

Hi everyone:-)
I'm new here and looking for some advice. I stay in Broxburn and have to rent one of 2 bedrooms (as struggle with paying a rent a bit:( but don't want to stay with a meateater - where would be the best to advertise it? I did it on gumtree and veggieboards.com, but not sure where there're more chances vegetarians/vegans would be looking for a room.
Also - is there anything like Edinburgh vegan group on facebook (not that I'm such a fb fan as I'm not) ? I was looking for if but couldn't find.

It's also great to read all the reviews and reccomendations about where to eat, it helps a lot.

I went to al Borgo tonight, an Italian place in Juniper Green, Edinburgh. They were brilliant. It was no problem to adapt any of the vegetarian meals to vegan - loads of options and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We did call in advance to make sure they could cater for a vegan and they were lovely, no problem at all.

I seem to have been out a lot to eat lately! Last night I was at the Buffalo Grill in Edinburgh. It wasn't my idea (last minute 'we need to eat' decision) and it was pretty horrifying watching everyone else choking down slabs of meat, but the vegetarian burger was vegan and the staff were brilliant - they were really helpful and ever so nice. :)
