last year i made some falafels using dried chickpeas soaked overnight then without being cooked they were whizzed up with tumeric etc, then shallow fried or done in the oven.

for the life of me i can't find the recipe again.

does anyone have a recipe using dried chickpeas as a base please?

thanks:thumbsup:

There are literally hundreds of falafel recipes but I use this one modified from Vegan With A Vengeance. I calls for tinned chickpeas but you can use soaked dried ones too.

275g chickpeas
1 slice wholemeal bread
2tbsp plain flour
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp baking powder
1tsp coriander
1/4 tsp cayenne
4tbsp parsley
1/2 tsp salt

I don't usually bother with the coriander and I use dried parsley. Chuck everything in a blender. Make up about 8 falafels and leave in fridge for half an hour. I usually shallow fry

oops sorry! Must not have given it a thorough look. It's the perfect falafel then!

*cough* Cumin! *cough*

Although with falafel's that taste that good, wouldn't be surprised if it's a secret recipe ;)
