I started thinking about this whilst eating rice and realising its my favourite grain, then started wondering/deciding on my favourite things from other food groups (though with me it changes by the day/hour/minute) and thought Id post a thread and see what everyone elses is :)
My favourite:
grain = rice (brown, short grain, its just sooo tasty every time i eat it i like it more, can't believe i cut it out of my diet for no real reason for so long!)
vegetable = Hardest one! I actually can't decide. Right now cauliflower, I can't get enough of it, but I love veggies soooo much whatever I am eating is my fave (I realised earlier the reason my weight gain is going so slow is probably because I overload my plate with veggies compared to things like veg, grains etc, becuase I like them so much!!)
nut = brazil nut
seed = sunflower seed, though i had some bad ones and got a really bad tummy so havent been having them lately so its pumpkin seeds right now, but sunflower seeds as a rule...
fruit = can't decide between banana or apple. Probably banana cus I seem to get through more of them
pulse/legume = chick pea
herb = rosemary or dill but this changes alllll the time!!
spice = cinnamon
dried fruit = figs
sweetener = dates
sprout = lentils
juice = apple & spinach
Hmm can't think of any more, writing this has made me realise how much I love food lol
Anyway post your favourites!!!

:eek:
I'm truely shocked that wheat isn't on anyone's favourite grain list so far.
There are also some slightly dodgy classifications going on :)
Cherry

I guess wheat's pretty cool, but if it were a choice between a bowl of rice, and a bowl of wheat, I'd go with the rice. If it were a choice between only ever having wheat products, or only ever having rice products, I'd go with the wheat.
By classification you mean the fruit/veg thing? (Or the fruit AND berries?) It's always confusing. It's like mass/weight and batteries/cells, and die/dice. Doing it wrong is the norm and you sound ridiculous if you try to do it correctly.

i've decided to change my favourite grain to spelt. it makes really good pasta and doesn't make me feel sick afterwards, unlike wheat pasta. spelt pizza bases are great too. unfortunately spelt bread isn't very nice. :rolleyes:

I have pretty cut wheat bread and pasta out again, it seems to cause some sort of hypoglecemic reaction, especially in my skin :(
I'm going to keep my wheat gluten intake low from now on.
Rice is definitely my favorite grain, rice noodles and rice pasta are great! It is also one of the least processed grains generally.
I think the spelt bread that Infinity bake is awesome, even if it is a little hard, it just seems like real hearty bread unlike most of the commercial junk around that just falls to pieces.
