The Dr Hadwen Trust (http://www.drhadwentrust.org) (UK) is driving for support for a specific Nottingham University tissue engineering project in the development of a 3-dimensional human liver model. Successful advances would be extremely important to the future of pharmacological toxicity tests & medical research, which at the moment rely on the livers of rodents, and to a lesser extent pigs, dogs and monkeys.
