I need breakfast ideas for my husband. He's not a big fan of wheat products and has sworn off tofu.:dizzy: He does manual labor so needs something that will give him a lot of energy, but does not make him sluggish in the heat.

Lunch snack ideas would be helpful as well.

TIA!

sounds like he can use a proper full English, minus the toast and scrambled tofu... baked beans, fried mushroom and tomato, and something potato-based.

or is Asian an option? I love rice soup or Japanese-style breakfast.

For lunch how about an avocado layered salad, with nuts/seeds sprinkled on top for energy and extra calories. Add a small pot of hummus and some wholemeal bread. Selection of fruit for breakfast? Or mushrooms on toast with cherry tomatoes, stirfried with chilli flakes and olive oil.
Pavo's suggestion sounds yummy I'm hungry now lol!

if he doesn't want to eat wheat, how about oatmeal with added stuff like dried fruits, nuts, seeds, mashed banana. or banana sandwiches alone or with pb. or make your own museli so you know exactly what's in it, everything your man likes etc.

you could try replacing regular flour in pancakes etc with rice flour or gluten free.
