How do veggie dogs fare in the oven?

Been wanting some old childhood favorites and it's time for pigs in a blanket. Are veggie dogs okay in the oven?

....PS that's how you make 'em, right? Cook the hot dog, put the croissant bread in it, and then bake the bread?

I just worry the dogs will be overcooked and rubbery.

i've made vegan pigs in blankets before. i don't cook the dogs before. i use a biscuit dough recipe (i think from The Garden Of Vegan) and i slice up the dogs in thirds, roll em up in the biscuit dough and cook both at same time. They are yummy.

Are pigs in blankets sausage rolls? Sausage in pastry? If so prick the hot dog and they are fine.
