I'm the Training Manager for a midlands-based training/business consultancy that operates throughout the UK.

As well as running short training courses and offering consultancy, coaching and business development assistance to companies, we also run large numbers of management and leadership qualifications from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). These qualifications can run over a number of months up to to 2 years plus.

Delegates on one of these qualifications have to complete a number of assignments (written essay-style assignments and occasionally oral presentations) as validation of their learning.

We now need an assessor, working 16 hours per week on weekday daytimes (mostly from home) to mark both types of assignments from levels 2 (team leader) to 5 (middle manager). There would be other assessment/verification tasks as required, plus some admin work involving the use of MS Word.

Occasional travel required to attend monthly team meeting/ standardisation meetings with the rest of the ILM team and also for marking of oral presentations at clients' sites. Travel expenses paid. For ease of training and support on a face-to-face basis, we would prefer someone in the midlands, ideally in the Derby / Burton / Nottingham / Leicester areas, but this is not an essential criteria.

You would need to have either:

Previous assessment experience at levels 2 and 3 (AND a management or business qualification at level 5 OR previous management experience at level 5) - people with management experience at first line manager level could be considered depending on size of teams/budget responsibility

OR

Previous assessment experience at level 5 in a management/business context

Pay in the region of 7.50 p/h with the possibility of overtime some weeks if wanted.

Please PM for more info.

We may also decide to take on an assessor at levels 2 and 3 as a short-term position of a few months while we find the right candidate for the longer-term position of marking at level 5, so if you know any friends/colleagues who might be interested in that, please also PM me.
