I need some ideas. I've never been to the US and I'm thinking of going to New York for two months. Any ideas on how I can find a place to stay which won't totally burn out my economy? Basically I'm looking for a low cost place that has a functional kitchen. Any ideas on where I should start looking?

Hi, I just came across your post. If it's still relevant here's my suggestion: http://newyork.craigslist.org/
It's slightly overwhelming with all the info you'll find but works great.
How I would go about doing finding somewhere:
*go to the search drop down menu and select housing
*go to the drop down all housing menu and select sublets & temporary
* from there you can narrow your search by setting a rent maximum, which burough you would like to stay in, and a few others

good luck!

Thanks for the info! That site is really overwhelming. I'll dig into it some days and hopefully I'll find something.

Thanks again! :)
