I am looking at the Nutrition Facts of Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese:

Calories 60
Fat Cal 45
Total Fat 5g 8%
(Trans Fat 2g)
Sodium 120 mg 5%
Total Carb 2g 0%
Protein 1g

"Not a significant source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron or Calcium."

I looked at the Tofutti Sour Supreme, and it said basically the same thing.

Virtually no carbs, no protein, no vitamins. Is this worth anything other than calories, fat, and sodium?

there are something you have to eat even if its bad for you, this is one of them IMO.

I eat a lot of foods with no nutrional value, dumb yes, but I only have a short stay on this earth so I'm going to stuff my face :D...of course, i don't do it all the time....but once in a while oh boy! :)

And its not like you are only eating the cream cheese or sour cream, aren't you putting it on stuff? just make sure the stuff you are putting it on has some nutrional value and soak in the blissfulness of the yummy!!!

It's so good I don't even care. I eat it every day.

same here. there's something wonderful about a big glop of the sour cream on top of chili. i'd still eat it if it were 600 calories.

Haha, okay. The consensus seems to be that Tofutti is gratuitous. Nutrition is important to me, so I don't consider it worth buying when I have plenty of more nutritious options. I am constantly arguing against non-vegans in my head for eating animals just because of taste, so I am not going to buy food I know to be useless for almost anything other than taste. Not saying I'd never eat it, but I won't buy it.

Good for you.

Have tofutti started using a supplier of vegan sugar in the US now then? I remember a 'scandal' a few years back.

I have it very infrequently but I can tell you it makes the *most* delicious cream filling for cakes, mixed with sugar and cocoa powder to make quite a strong chocolate taste is the best.. yum!!

I just tried Tofutti cream cheese today. I like it but still remember what dairy cream cheese tastes like so I can tell the difference.

Since I didn't eat dairy cream cheese that often anyway I don't mind if it's not that nutritionally dense.
