Just wondered if people knew about/were interested in this - there's a note about it in the current issue of The Vegan mag.

http://www.vegetariancharity.org.uk/veganventure.html

I met Maxwell Lee, who the course commemorates, once; he was a long-standing vegetarian who went vegan in later life if I remember correctly - ETA I see I do remember correctly as it's mentioned at the bottom of that page :o

Ooh, sounds exciting! I wish I could go, but I'm definitely going to be out of the country in August :(

Oh well - I think it's an annual event so perhaps you can apply another year

It sounds so good - might see if I can mention this in the College I work in. We have one student in our area who has just gone veggie but would be too far for her to go on her own.

Yes I don't know why they have an age bar. I can see they need to narrow the field but means-testing would make more sense. That would probably put people off though.

Or better still, capability testing. There are plenty of 16-25 year olds who can cook. I'm 33 and I can't! I *need* this sort of course! Blatant ageism! :D

Yes that sounds like a fun sort of test, and one I could pass with flying colours - prove you can't cook :D (Mind you I've come across people who really can't cook, like the ones who don't know you have to peel an onion, so their need is probably greater.)

I got her flyer at the second-to-last Hillside fair (that was her, right?) and am very tempted. I might know that I need to peel an onion ;) but otherwise it's all fairly dodgy :undecided:
