RubyDuby
Jun 12th, 2011, 01:06 AM
My oh made them from here (http://www.saveur.com/article/Recipes/Ethiopian-Lentil-Stew), but w/o butter and added sweet potatoes and mushrooms.

I know it doesn't look like much, but this was really tasty.
I sprinkled ground ginger and garlic on the tempeh before cooking it on a skillet and served on Ezekiel toast with vegenaise and topped with shoyu.
The carrots and celery were "marinated" in rice vinegar and boiling water with umeboshi plum for 5 min before draining, then mixed with tsp sesame oil and seeds.

There is some damn nice looking food here.

@Rubyduby I think I will be making those lentils tomorrow!!, I've been Vegan 3 years and still not cooked with lentils.

@Witchy, I want a cake just like that when I'm 80, if I make it to that age!

@Risker Are those Tesco's veg fingers? They are really good covered with Branston tomato & red pepper relish, topped with a Tofutti Cheddar slice.

Dalepak, think they're pretty much the same though. Relish would have been good, we made do with ketchup. Tofutti... not so good :D

I know Tofutti is full of all the bad stuff, but once in a while my heart can take it. Tofutti cuties on the other hand I would eat all day long if I could.

Not bothered about whether it's healthy or not, just don't like the taste. The cuties however are great, I've only ever had them once as they're so difficult to get hold of.

I quite like the tofutti on burgers but not from regular eating point of view (much prefer Sheese, vegusto, redwood)
Same here with the cuties, one shop in a 30 mile radius sells them, and its 2 trains and a 30 minute walk away.

Cuties are usually the only vegan thing in ice-cream area of the regular supermarkets and I just don't like them at all!
