Yes, sigh. Mind you, crisps are the devil's work anyway :( ;)

I had no idea what an amazing range of overpriced snacks they did at petrol stations on which I could live if necessary.
Thanks Cumin, the Ray Mears of post apocalypse vegan snackhunting.

What do you vegans snack on besides fruits & veggies? I'm in school so I'm always in a hurry and it's hard to find variety. I'm a huge fan of unfrosted poptarts and cliffbars but I'm looking for something a little healthier.

if you want to go really healthy, pack a ziploc with baby carrots, green beans, nuts, dried fruit, unbuttered popcorn, rice or soy cakes . if you want to eat more junky type foods, there are a ton of crackers, chips, pretzels, party mixes, etc. that you can find anywhere. Just go into any corner store or supermarket and you can find a lot if you just look around. It takes a little more time to look at ingredient labels but it's so worth it.

Enjoy and Good Luck.

I live off of cereals, and granola bars.

I also recommend Trader Joe's Vegan Cookies. They are so delicious, and they have three different types Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip, and Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal.

if you have time at the weekends, there are raw fruit & nut energy bars you can make in no time, keep in the fridge, and take out when you need to.

My personal favourite is mushrooms and bell peppers dipped into homemade hummus. The other obvious culprits are various fruits and a good diversion to hunger is tea of any kind. As for chips, I really like the Krunchies (I think that's what it's called) brand...though they're highly fatty and I'd advise eating them as a rarity. They're a kettle cooked chip, so the damage is a bit less then yr normal garden variety chip.

yes, muffins and cupcakes are good... you can also make halfway healthy muffins so it's not too bad.

One of my favorite snacks is chips and salsa. I swear I could live on that. Here are some other quickies:

--pita torn into bite-sized chunks and dipped in hummus
--bread with Annie's Goddess Dressing spread on it liberally
--peanut butter and jelly (or pumpkin butter) on toast
--peanut butter-filled pretzels
--sliced carrots dipped in spicy brown mustard
--frozen spinach heated in the microwave and covered with Annie's Goddess dressing (with chopped avocado if I have one on hand)
--instant oatmeal

Mmm. Now I want Goddess Dressing. Mmm.

Cheers,

Yeah, those cookies are really good. I really like the Uncle Eddie's vegan cookies, too. They have more flavors, like molasses and trail mix!

Dates are definately my fave for on the go snacks, and at home I like veggies and pitta bread with dip, or some fruit. Sometimes I grab a bag of crisps but I can eat a tonne of them so really try to avoid if I can!

Trailmix, I have a container of it at work. Everyone in the office eats it and replaces it now. No more chocolate!

There is this delicious little scone recipe that one of my teachers gave me that is packed with flax seed, blueberries, raspberries, and whole wheat flour. Powerful little punch midway through your day.
