Hi all,
(Korn - if this is in the wrong place, apologies and feel free to move :) )
My friend, Karin, who lives in Hungary (Kunszentmiklos, Bacs-Kiskun county) has had 4 of her horses stolen. They have been her companions for between 5 and 10 years and she is absolutely devastated. One of the horses the thieves left behind is old and mostly blind, and relies on two of the stolen horses to guide him around the field. He is going downhill with grief too. It is beyond awful.
There is every chance that they will be moved and then sold through an animal market or horse sale. A Facebook group has been set up and reached more than 3000 members, but most of us are in the UK. We have tweeted a lot of Hungarian and horsey celebrities in an effort to spread the word. The Hungarian police are involved and are being wonderful about checking as many markets and sales as they can, but they have limited time and resources.
There is a £2,500 (750,000 Forint) reward for information leading to the safe return of the horses, collected by friends of Karin. This is a LOT of money in Hungary and we are hoping it is enough to persuade someone to talk.
Please, anyone who has contacts in Hungary, or bordering countries, will you help us by doing 2 things?
