Friends in Germany would visit once a year and now we are still stuck in Beijing for 2012.
14 yr old Jonas would like an opportunity to practice English while in a veg environment. His folks are searching for somewhere to send him on summer holiday, a couple weeks.

Any leads, advice?

I am finding summer camps only in the U.S. There are residential English programs in the UK for young people but he really doesn't want to wake to the smell of bacon.

If a nice family can be found somewhere (compensated of course) then English class won't be difficult to add on, I reckon.

cheers!

Hi Pat - you could also try here http://www.veganvillage.co.uk/notices.htm if you haven't already. If vegetarian is OK, you could also ask the Vegetarian Society to publicise your request as that would obviously increase the chances.

There is also the Vegan Camp - I don't know if they would take a lone 14-year-old but maybe some family would take him under their wing. http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=130 I assume they will be doing that again next year (ETA that wouldn't be a formal course but I imagine there would be plenty of opportunity to practise English.)

cheers!

Have come across the British Council list of Jr vacation English courses: so far, schools want enrollment first, then will try to find suitable host family.
Jonas has an overdeveloped sense of right and wrong; pity the flesh-eating family that takes him in! lol
