I'm in the West Midlands, north Birmingham to be precise :) You'd think there would be more vegan-friendly groups/meet ups since The Vegan Society moved here, but no such luck :rollseyes_ani:

Hi to you both, just to say I'm a vegan living in birmingham, I also dont know alot of other vegans, mainly due to time related factors with bringing up twins! Just for your information there is a mosely vegan group that hold lots of meet-ups for social evenings and they organise related events - they have quite a bit going on at the moment. If you do a search on mosely vegans or local contacts with the Vegan society you'll get all the info. Good luck, maybe I will see you there as I'm hoping to go along to meet them in the near future!

Hi herbert, thank you very much for that, I have heard about all these groups but I have a little baby so it's hard to get to them in the evenings as I don't drive and don't fancy wandering around after dark wit a little babba.. I do hope to cross paths with you some time though!!! :D

I'm in Redditch, Worcs. Sometimes go to Wolverhampton for gigs although tend to stick to Birmingham as I don't drive. Add www.facebook.com/saveascream (my cruelty free page) if you want.

Wow, that's awesome that you're in Redditch too, Suzy. I'm not sure if there are any meet ups - although some people go to the Hillfields Animal Sanctuary meals and open days that take place usually once every 6 months or something. I don't tend to go myself as I'm always so busy working on my mag and website in my spare time. I go to lots of gigs (rock and pop-punk) in Birmingham though and always like meeting up with new friends.

It's the next West Mids Vegan Fest in Wolves on Oct 27th - so I imagine a lot of people will be going to that.

I'm in the West Midlands - Stourbridge.

I know of the Moseley Vegans, Birmingham Vegans and Vegetarians and Wolverhampton groups, all of which have Fleecebook pages.

Doesn't seem to be anything for Stour/Dudley/Worcs etc?

Hi Owei,
re: Stourbridge
A few of us met in the Duke William last week and will do so again (they sell Freedom beers, including stout, all vegan).
Mail me at gazzarandall at gmail.com.

Hi Grandall,

When are you meeting next?

As well as Freedom beers, Craddock's bottled beers are vegan-friendly, as he doesn't use finings in the bottled version (the cask versions are fishy, though). You have to ask for a bottle, which does seem to confuse the hell out of the staff.
However, the more people asking for it, the more chance he is likely to take notice for future brews.

They also do a good range of other bottled beers which are vegan-friendly including Sadlers from up The Lye.

Hi,
no definite date for the Duke but we (me and my wife Derrin) will be going to the monthly Wolverhampton meeting on Weds July 4th next week. Let me know if you want a lift. There are apparently a few Stourbridge folk who go there so I want to push them to at least do something sociable locally in Stourbridge, say, once a month or so.
Thanks for the Craddocks info, but I sold my soul to cider a long time ago :-)
cheers
Gaz

Nowt wrong with a decent cider Gaz - have you tried Tardebigge (http://www.madebyhandsofbritain.com/makers/tardebiggecider)? - it's excellent ;-)

Thanks for the offer of a lift, can't make this meeting, maybe one in future?

A regular monthly social in Stourbridge would be great - I know of two others here, apart from us (me and Mrs OWEI).
The Duke would be an splendid venue.

Tardebigge looks spot on. Any idea where to get it (apart from visiting them)?

Last time I emailed Steve at Tardebigge he just said turn up with a container, but to warn him as he's not an early riser...

They did have it as a guest last summer in the Windsor Castle up the Lye (Sadler's tap house), haven't been in for a few months though.
Maybe ask Dave to get some in at the Duke?

There are loads of really good locally produced vegan-friendly ciders within a small radius of Stourbridge.

Angel Ales (http://www.angelales.co.uk/Angel%20Forthcoming%20Ales.htm)in Colley Gate do some marvellous beers and they are heading towards being totally organic and vegan. I've tried Angel Ale, Bob61 and Eclipse - and they are great.

If you're in Brum, Two Towers Jewellery Porter (draught and bottled) is v-f, and the Moor Beers (http://moorbeer.co.uk/) they have on in the Shakespeare and the Old Contemptibiles are generally unfined (It should say on the pump clip).

Hi, we're going to the Wolves group meeting tomorrow night, let me know if you want a lift. Failing that, how about meeting up in Stourbridge on Friday 10th August? I don't check here that often, so best to mail me at gazzarandall@gmail.com,

cheers

I'm in Kings Norton and work in Redditch. Newly vegan after 17 years of vegetarianism. Hi to all the West Midlands vegans out there. Be nice to hear about local places for vegan food, to expand my horizons and point me in the right direction. Is there anywhere in our near to the Kingfisher centre that does quick and easy vegan options to grab for lunch, now that £1 baguettes are no longer an option!
