View Full Version : Anyone else here on a weight-loss diet?

I started mine 3 days ago - day 1 was a failure (ended up in the indian restaurant - don't ask! lol)

yesterday I had about 200 cals too many but i still ended up losing 1lb when i weighed this morning.

Today i'm just feeling hungry all the time and can't stop thinking about my next meal lol.

Are there other dieters on here and maybe we can help each other out? i want to lose 46lbs in a year (before I hit the big 4-0!)

Appologies if there's another simular thread here but I can't find it!

The more natural carotenes you eat, the more weight you will shed.

Fresh carrot juice is an option and vegetables are another option.

Carotenes like beta-carotene are easily absorbed by the body when ingested.

The body needs fatty acids to convert beta-carotene to Vitamin A and will go get the fatty acids from your fat stores.

What I do every evening is boil a pot of vegetables for the next day. 2-3KG of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, peppers, mushrooms, etc...

2-3KG of vegetables are probably too much for you. 1-2KG of vegetables should be fine. Its impossible to gain weight by eating vegetables. Plus they keep you full for longer.

I also do eat ripe fruit daily.

I get creative and make random vegetable dishes daily with white rice(carbs). Sometimes I will add lentils and beans.

Vitamin A is fat-soluble and you can overdose on it and it will make you ill if you have too much.

It's not IMPOSSIBLE to gain weight by eating vegetables, they all contain calories, I agree it would be difficult to gain wait eating vegetables because you'd have to eat such a large volume of them but at the end of the day, a calorie is a calorie and it also depends how you cook them.... frying vegetables would make them very calorific.

The scientific name of Vitamin A is Retinol. Its impossible to overdose on beta-carotene. The body has a safety mechanism where it stops making Retinol(Vitamin A) from beta-carotene when it has reached its requirements.

Retinol toxicity can only happen by eating large quantities of liver. Omnivores/carnivores like dogs, cats, bears, etc.. have a safety mechanism where they can convert Retinol to a non-toxic molecule. We humans don't have this safety mechanism. Hence we aren't omnivores.

Search Antioxidants weight loss on the internet.

You'll see that a diet high in natural Antioxidants goes along with a diet high in Vitamins and Minerals. Hence vegetables.

Antioxidants not only reverse conditions like heart disease. They clean up the body from the inside out. :-)

Other than the body needing fatty acids to convert beta-carotene to Vitamin A.

From understanding metabolism. I say a clean body has a normal metabolism and starts burning fatty acids as energy through lipolysis.

You can check out Charlotte Gerson on the internet, shes 89 years old and quite lively at her age. She cures Cancer naturally with high amounts of fresh carrot juice with 3 Veg meals a day. To get an idea of super healthy foods.

Green tea is an antioxidant and helps boost metabolism, just make sure to up your vitamin c if you drink a lot of it (to help absorb iron).

I like hearing useful information when the complete truth isn't hidden. How green tea blocks the absorption of iron and contains caffeine. Everyone keeps looking for a "quick fix" while nature has always had it right from the beginning by providing us with perfect foods. Fruits and vegetables.
