View Full Version : Creative ways to use hemp milk?

I decided to give hemp milk a try today, since it's so healthy, has omega 3 and 6 etc. So far I enjoyed every single vegan milk I tired (soy, rice, coconut, almond, oat, you name it lol) so I didn't think it was going to be any different with hemp.

I poured myself a generous glass and oh the horror! LOL! I can't even describe the taste, it must have been one of the most vile things I've ever had in my mouth!

So in the end I am stuck with a full carton of hemp milk and since I don't like to waste food (but at the same time there's no way I will drink it) I was wondering if any of you knows any recipes that would include hemp milk (but hide its taste!) Or maybe I could make some kind of beauty product with it? I'm open for any suggestions.

And for those of you who never tried hemp milk before - learn from my mistake - DON'T

I tried it a year ago, it tasted like evil.

Maybe you could make a "cheesey" sauce, put it in some kind of strongly flavoured soup or use it in a chocolate cake (lots of chocolate might hide the taste)?

I had hemp milk and liked it. Maybe it's a brand issue.

I tried making cocoa with it last night, but it was still very bitter, even with three spoons of sugar. And don't start me on the smell... I think I'm going to end up using it for a feet soak or something LOL

I've had this kind too and love it! As a beverage that is. I have not had success using it for baking as it leaves an off taste, at least in my experience.

How about using it in mash potato? Obviously there's only so much you can use for that but thought it could help.

If you can think of things to use it up slowly you could freeze it in an ice cube tray.

How about something like a green smoothie with ginger in? those would be pretty strong masking flavours.
