Vegusto Sandwich
I saw vegusto in a health food shop in town yesterday, I was really excited until I saw that it was €7.70! I will try it someday but do you think it's fantastic enough to justify the cost?

Yup! But not often. I probably buy it twice a year (once for Christmas and at another point when I'm feeling indulgent).
I now get it directly from the company but get a few things to justify the shipping.

What? That's madness. I bought some in Galway two days ago for almost half that! I bought a hard cheese which was lovely, and a melting one which was rubbish.
Edit: My mistake; they were actually over a fiver each.

Hmmm you lads have given me food for thought... I'd be able to justify a fiver if I knew it was nice. I'm going to Barcelona soon so I'm going to see how much it is in the vegan shop there. I really want to try it though. Barry, does the hard one melt or is it a cheese for crackers? Does it freeze?

Blueberries,
the hard one (the "Piquant") does not melt, but it gives great taste. There's one that melts (the "melty") and I typically grate that together with the hard one to have both the taste and some of the meltiness. Of course, the hard one is absolutely great on crackers.
I have frozen the "Piquant" one with no visible detriments, but to be open, it is already quite crumbly when not frozen.
There is also a non-spicy hard one, which is also nice, but IMO the "Piquant" (original name: "rezent", meaning "aged" when used with cheese in Switzerland) is simply spectacular, there's lots of garlic in it that gives it a taste similarly to an aged Gruyere or Appenzell cheese. Update - Having looked now at the Vegusto web site again, I see that there seem to be now two non-spicy ones, I guess I have to try out these again to find out how they compare to the "Piquant".
Best regards,
Andy
