Hi, I am a newbee to the vegan forum and I am currently following a vegan diet but I have not become fully vegan yet. I just have a quick question regarding vegan quiche. Is it possible to make a vegan quiche with Free & Easy Non-Dairy Cheese Sauce instead of tofu? If it is possible, does anyone have a recipe including the Cheese Sauce powder?

Thank you in advance. :-)

Hello - I don't have a recipe but there are quiche recipes involving white/bechamel sauce so I don't see why you shouldn't substitute your sauce. I would imagine you might need to make it a bit thicker than usual

Here's one recipe like that which I haven't tried myself http://www.delicooks.com/en/receips/recetas-veganas-de-toni-rodriguez/eggplant-and-spinach-quiche-

You certainly don't need to put tofu in a vegan quiche type thing. I have made them myself using cooked veg and just a bit of flour to thicken the filling, which I suppose is a similar idea to yours.

I have not heard of Free & Easy Non Dairy cheese sauce, sorry. But, if you are trying to avoid soy or tofu in general I know of two vegan quiche recipes you might be interested in:

http://heathenandvegan.blogspot.com/2010/11/vegan-mofo-iv-day-29-soy-free-vegan.html

The first two recipes use chickpea flour in place of egg with slightly different variations and the third recipe uses mashed potatoes. I have tried the first one and it was very good, even my omnivore husband liked it.

I hope you get some answers for the cheese sauce too!
