... knew you would take a look, given the title !

Take a look at http://christwire.org/2012/03/vegetarianism-atheism-and-masturbation-the-new-threesome-youth-trend-threatening-american-morality/

They certainly gave the issue some consideration....

Best regards,

That site's meant to be satirical, but yes, a lot of work goes into it!

That is a crazy site - I too like to think it's satirical. It would be really scary if not.

The really scary publications are the ones being satirised, I suppose

Yes, I realized it's satire when I read the articles on why blacks abuse their kids so much or how you can contract homosexuality.

But, I think it was too good to pass :-)

Best regards,
Andy

Yes, I didn't realise at first that that article was satirical (someone posted it on Facebook a few days ago) until I saw the one about "Vomiting Virus Outbreak Strikes Germany, Michelle Obama Schoolunches to Blame!"

The vegetarian one isn't so far off some real ones I've seen elsewhere. There is or was a sect here that was always going on about vegetarians being the spawn of Satan and what not, and I don't think they were keen on that other stuff either :)

"Like drugs, they confuse and irritate the young, leading them to temporary highs and devastating, lifelong lows. When one adds the biological condition of masturbation into this mix, it is a recipe for a moral epidemic."

Wow....really???? People are completely crazy.

There are plenty out there this extreme & ridiculous. Sometimes it's impossible to parody.

Indeed.

I recently read some alarming news updates on the Fukushima reactor catastrophe on http://nationalreport.net/, that were shared on facebook by some people among my friends.

Of course, when I looked at more than one article on the site and found - among others - an interview with Godzilla stating that he would be leaving Japan as a result, I knew I did not have to take the other articles too seriously... of course, Sarah Palin's picture next to "Americas # 1 independent news team" should have been a dead giveaway :-)

Best regards,
Andy

Oh, and yes, sometimes it is very hard to parody ...

take a look at these quotes: http://adultthought.ucsd.edu/culture_war/the_american_taliban.html

Scary, right?

The scariest thing is that it works on so many - conservative party here in Oz was elected to national government on Saturday with the aid of that ilk. I'd laugh if it wasn't so close to the bone.
