Hi all

I live in Brighton, UK and i am pulling my hair out trying to locate another vegan. Just one, would be lovely. I dont care if theyre male, female, have 6 toes and 3 eyeballs i just want to have ANYONE to hang out with who doesnt constantly offer me steak and cheese bagels.

To backtrack, iv lived in Brighton for 10 months, ive been Vegan for 8, but my friend making skills were disrupted by my getting a boyrfirend, who promptly dumped me and now - im ashamed to admit, 10 months in Brighton and iv not made a single friend. To make matters more complicated, iv become wonderfully passionate about veganism and i kinda want a vegan friend or two...who shares that passion. Is that so much to ask?

So, my question is this - how do i make vegan friends? And Brighton people, where should i be going to socialise with you guys?

Any help is much appreciated :)

J xx

Hello - I think you are probably on to a winner looking for vegans in Brighton, as there are loads there. For starters there seems to be a meet up group here, http://www.meetup.com/BrightonVeg/ Am sure there will be more ideas.

I make mine out of odd shaped vegetables, then I take pictures of them to put in my avatar.

Hmm I'm hungry. Risker, will you make me some friends? I'll invite them over for dinner.

Not possible unfortunately.

Everybody knows that vegans are weird antisocial misfits who stay in their rooms all day, curtains drawn, playing Dungeons & Dragons.

I prefer Skyrim.

Other vegans won't accept me because I don't play d&d :'(. Apart from that I was so close... :)

No D&D here either, I was unfortunately sheltered to hell by a strict religious (cult) upbringing. I do enjoy Skyrim and World of Warcraft...I've thought of trolling the WoW chats to see if there are any other vegans, haven't done it yet.

I would love to meet more vegans in the UK. Especially in Leicester. I also would like to hopefully meet more UK vegan personal trainers too. They seem to be very hard to find. Any ideas?

You're in luck. Go on meetup.com and search "leicester vegetarian & vegan group". There's over 90 of us on there, many are vegan. There's regular meals n events. Also there's a group that meet at the Friends Meeting House on Queens Road first thursday of every month.

Can't help with the prsonal trainer but lots of us are quite fit n sporty :-) The group is growing all the time.
