Fish Oil Does Not Improve Heart Health
May 13, 2013

Supplementing with omega-3 fatty acids does not improve heart health, according to a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Researchers analyzed data from 12,513 men and women from the Risk and Prevention Study in Italy. After an average follow-up of five years, patients taking the omega-3 supplements did not reduce their risk of death or hospitalization from heart disease, compared with those who took placebo.
These findings support two recent reviews published in 2012 (http://pcrm.org/health/medNews/fish-oil-does-not-benefit-heart).

I can't follow the link for some reason. I'm curious if there are still other benefits from omega oils?
I get mine from hemp seed/oil anyway because I love it on salad :-)

I think it might be a problem with that entire website. If you just put in the www.pcrm.org it still takes you to the Problems Loading Page error. Perhaps their server is down?

Omega-3, or DHA/EPA, is also said to be good for eg. brain health, for it's anti-inflammatory effect and more.

More about vegan DHA/EPA here. (http://www.veganforum.com/forums/showthread.php?9872-Omega-3-Vegan-DHA-EPA/page6)
