Dinner - homemade French Lentil Soup with Tarragon and Thyme (http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=105) - the third soup I have tried to make lately, and it was actually edible (unlike last week's) - woohoo! :D It was good! 4 or so very small thin slices of several day old hard french bread, toasted w/earth balance.

Hi people, this is the first time I have posted since I joined. I am a vegan, yet I have questions pertaining to the "Raw food diet" aka raw vegan. I've recently been interested in going in that route.
I've being reading articles relating to the benefits of heat-free food and such and it seems for me, the only way to go. I would like to get meet some one who can help to offer some insight.
I would appreciate it very much.

Hi Bears,
I know a little bit about rawfoodism. My boyfriend is raw. You can msg me if you have any questions. :)

Hi Bears!

That's awesome that you're interested in raw! I'm interested in it too, but haven't had the time or discipline to really jump into it lately. Best of luck!

Today so far:
Breakfast: bowl of Koala Crisp cereal with soymilk. Small container of strawberry soy yogourt

Lunch: Thai Kitchen Peanut flavour rice noodle stir fry, YUM

Supper: will be a huge feast at a vegan potluck I'm going to tonight!!! I'll post about all the yummy things I eat tonight! As long as there's mashed potatoes, I'll be in HEAVEN!!! :D

Also, I just HAVE to mention that my boyfriend has gone almost completely vegetarian! Today he mentioned that it's been a week since he ate meat, and I couldn't believe it! He generally eats vegan suppers if I come over to cook, but I assumed that his lunches at school were burgers and pizza, but he says he hasn't had that stuff for a week. I'm so excited for him! What I'm really happy about is that I've never once preached to him about veganism, so he came to the decision all by himself, and that's what usually makes people stay veg*n long-term. I hope this sticks!

That's reat Yoggy, and your so right about people making their own minds up about that type of thing, he is much more likely to commit long-term if he feels like he is doing it for himself and that he made the decision for his own reasons :)

Yay for your boyfriend!

Breakfast:
-homemade blueberry bran muffin (from the freezer) with pumpkin butter
-Hot chocolate almond milk, sweetened with stevia

Lunch:
-Leftover mac and cheez
-Salad (romaine, mushrooms, and cuccumbers) with lowfat raspberry vinaigrette dressing

Dinner:
-I made a tempeh, lettuce, and tomate sandwhich. The bread fell apart. :( I ended up having 1 slice of toast with Nayonaise and tempeh with ketchup, lettuce, and tomato
-A ton of Newman's pretzels
-A banana

Later:
-Popcorn with EB or apple crisp. Or a fruit smoothie. I'm undecided.

Sadly enough I had a bowl of sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with Olive oil, with fresh cilantro....mmm. I'm not that great at cooking, but I can make really good Black bean soup, I guess 'cause I'm Cuban.

claireyveg
Oct 10th, 2006, 02:45 AM
personally being from Aussieland i think it's bizzare that you can get pumpkin in a can in the first place, lol

i seriously could never imagine eating pumpkin as anything more then a vegetable... :) when i come over to the states i am going to have to get in on this whole pumpkin muffin, pumpkin pie thing

I heard on a cooking show (probably Kylie Kwong - do you really get her in Australia?) that the Aussies call any sort of squash like thing pumpkin, and what we have here isn't the same.

So maybe we are talking different things? Because we do have pumpkin, but only one specific thing and I had been wondering why you guess seem to eat it in so many things...

Anyway, yeah, make muffins with chocolate chips!
