No I don't think thats what they are called - but I know what you mean RW - they came in a box and were shaped like animals. I used to like them - it was like animal-shaped choc-covered on one side biscuits.

I'm talking about animal crackers they always mention them in American films? Maybe they are what you said Bryzee?

I don't know why its bugging me so much...:p

There are two main kinds of animal crackers I know of. There a version that comes in a little red box with a string made to look like a circus cart with pictures of animals in cages. Inside the box were some sweet buiscits/cookies in the shape of animals.
I used to love them as a kid, but the very idea of endorsing any such material now sickens me. This specific type is produced by Nabisco, which I believe to be a ConAgra company which I avoid like the plague. I once found some "Natural organic" popped corn. After indulging in some, I decided I'd read what was on the package out of boredom. Sure, they were vegan, but how sick I felt after finding a ConAgra logo.

There were another type I used to indulge in as a child were Frosted Animal Crackers. They were the same sweet cookies, but had been coated in pink and white frosting with colourful sprinkles.

That is the funniest looking menagerie I have ever seen in my life! the hippo looks like a rabbit foetus; the donkey has a strange growth on its head and the elephant has a FAT, short trunk! And what is with that bear???!!

Breakfast: Wholewheat pittabread with Redwoods "breakfast pate". Quite nice, reminded me of granose tinned sausages, which I used to love cold after they'd been grilled.

Lunch: Potato waffles :o

Dinner: Organic extra firm tofu, sliced and pan fried with soya sauce, a lot of garlic, tomato and a bit of chard.

After-swim snack just now: Sandwich - wholemeal bread, hummous, tomato, Redwoods chorizo and some salad leaves from my "living salad" pot :)

Drinks through the day - water, Machu Pichu coffee, Rocks orange squash.

For breakfast, I had my oatmeal cookie cereal (I ran out of egg replacer for my cookies and they turned out crumbly, but perfect for a granola-y breakfast food) with rice milk.

I am now having some awesome puttanesca inspired by a recipe I found on with Wiki cookbook. I even broke the bank to get some kalamata olives. They are one of my big weaknesses. Oh, and I made some spinach (I feel I need the iron) with balsamic vinegar as a side.
I cook too much food every time I make a meal. Old habits die hard and I'm used to cooking for 7 instead of one. So my meals tend to suffice for lunch and dinner. I have been pigging out since becoming vegan because nobody else in the house eats my food anymore. I used to stop eating when the food was gone, but now there seems to be more than enough food left over from one meal and I end up eating it all somehow.

I got it from Whole foods market in Kensington. Fresh and wild and loads of independent health stores sell them though. As might veganstore.
