3 packets of crisps:(
Is there anything similar to crisps but healthy?

I think you crave for salt  because of the summer
salted nuts, on tomatoes, water with some salt in it or add more salt to your food, like in salad dressings, sauces, gravys, roasted vegetables, stir fry etc

Chickpeas sound okay I suppose - maybe breadsticks never thought of that.

I do get salt cravings a lot actually - I started to eat lots of ready salted crisps since I became vegetarian when I was 17. But I do eat marmite which is very salty I think - I might look up salt cravings on net.
Thank you everybody anyway.:)

hmm, i get a lot of salt cravings, too, Aphrodite - i once looked it up and discovered it may be linked with low serotonin levels.

Really low serotonin levels hmm that wouldn't surprise me - and that is linked to depression as well isn't it?
I just read that foods high high in natural sodium and balanced minerals like celery, kelp powder and seaweed will help correct and maintain proper balance in our cells.

(Sorry turning this thread into chit chat.):p

poor foxy... any particular reason for that?

I take canned/cooked chickpeas and flavour them with chilli powder, salt, pepper and nutrional yeast, them put them in the oven for 30-45 minutes. easy as that.

foxy- i have the recipe for "roasted chichers" from Vegan Planet (very similar to what pavotrouge said...)

1 1/2 c cooked or canned chickpeas
2 Tbs olive oil
salt

preheat to 400 degrees. place chickpeas and olive oil in single layer on shallow baking dish. gently toss, then salt. Roast, stirring occasionally until they begin to brown ~20 min. Allow to cool and sprinkle with salt again if desired.

half of an everything bagel sandwich with veggie burger, onion and bbq sauce.
