yum ! :D
Today I've eaten:
Porridge with hazlenut/almond milk
1/2 ciabatta with yeast extract
2 small choc/cherry muffins
2 squares mint chocolate
Veggie pie, wedges, veg
aaah, I need to eat more fruit/veg ! I eat so much more healthily during summer, in winter all I want is stodge :o
dont feel too bad about wanting to eat only stodge scarlett (although i dont know what stodge is, i asume its junk food :)).
our bodies inherently know what season it is, and we crave certain foods during different seasons.
the reason you eat more fruit and veg during summer is because these foods are growing plenitifully throughout the summer.
as in the winter, these foods are not naturally available, you will not have the desire to eat them. during winter, we crave heartier, richer foods, and probably more "stodge" as well - lol.
same with in the spring you may crave more salads, and in fall: apples. these are the foods that are growing naturally.
some naturopaths and nutritionist even go as far as to say that eating too many raw fruits and veggies during winter is bad for you; it can throw your body out of wack. something to do with the illeocecal valve; i dont really know that much about it.
if your interested in this, there is a really great book on the topic; its called "eating alive" by john matsen.
