What?! I really have NEVER had a flat sausage! The whole point of a sausage is that it's sausage shaped!!

Today I've eaten:

vegan BLT sandwich
water
handful salted kettle chips
fry's cutlet with wedges and broccoli. oh and gravy
last of yesterday's choccy biccie cake with choccy rice cream
rice cream and choc chip sandwich

The first time I was in US waters I saw people eating sausages with syrup for breakfast and I was horrified. Apparently it is normal. I think it is nuts.

I'm on your side. Coming from sausage country, I can't approve of flat sausages.

dont feel too bad about wanting to eat only stodge scarlett (although i dont know what stodge is, i asume its junk food :)).

our bodies inherently know what season it is, and we crave certain foods during different seasons.
the reason you eat more fruit and veg during summer is because these foods are growing plenitifully throughout the summer.
as in the winter, these foods are not naturally available, you will not have the desire to eat them. during winter, we crave heartier, richer foods, and probably more "stodge" as well - lol.
same with in the spring you may crave more salads, and in fall: apples. these are the foods that are growing naturally.
some naturopaths and nutritionist even go as far as to say that eating too many raw fruits and veggies during winter is bad for you; it can throw your body out of wack. something to do with the illeocecal valve; i dont really know that much about it.
if your interested in this, there is a really great book on the topic; its called "eating alive" by john matsen.
:D

Thanks petunia, that's really interesting, I'll have a look and see if I can the book :) I think of stodge as heavy, mainly starchy foods I guess.

I don't like sausage/bacon/maple syrup combos ! When I go back home (to Canada) my sis is always dishing maple syrup up with everything ! I take mustard (proper "HOT" mustard, not the funny sweet, mild stuff :p ) and yeast extract with me which makes her cringe :D

May I add that I've just eaten a massive sandwich with a nut cutlet, sauerkraut, lettuce and ketchup on. Man, I've eaten a lot today.

sauerkraut is morally wrong.

I had roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings, peas and gravy for dinner.

Don't knock the old sausages & syrup until you've tried it! I'm a maple syrup addict and I'm so glad I discovered the sausage & syrup combo! Mmmmm!

Today:

2 cups of coffee with vanilla soy milk.
4 pieces organic multigrain toast with Soy Garden spread & agave nectar.

1 organic banana.

2 leftover Syrian pumpkin patties.

1 can Amy's organic chili (medium with vegetables).
Some organic sesame tortilla chips.
A big dolop of Tofutti sour cream.
1 glass of white wine.

About to have a cup of Earl Grey tea and a couple of fruit & spice cookies.

This sausages with maple syrup must be some weird Canadian/American thing...I don't plan on trying it.
So far today:
B: oats with vanilla soy yogurt and strawberries.
L: a whole jug of freshly juiced fruit and a couple of handfulls of cashews
Dinner will probably be a salad wrap with hommus.
:)
